Alyssa BertramCEO & Founder at easy.
Alyssa was born in Toronto and raised in the east end of the city. She always knew that she had the passion for motivating and inspiring people, especially women which has led her to her current career. She studied Psychology at Ryerson where she completed her research thesis. She then went on to work in the healthcare research field at various hospitals across Toronto. Motivated by the desire to do more Alyssa had an idea. The idea simply to have her tampons delivered to her door. Her father encouraged her to make this idea a business saying that “If you don’t do it, someone else will”. She began doing some research and discovered that many of the popular brands used products that were harmful to the female body. Her goal then shifted to not only making feminine hygiene products more accessible to women but to also empower women locally and abroad removing menstrual shame.
easy. provides an efficient platform for women to feel empowered continuously and seamlessly by donating 5% of all proceeds to ZanaAfrica Foundation which aims to deliver pads and teach health education to girls in Kenya.
All of this success did not come easy for Alyssa, as she constantly battles the fearful voice in her head that is full of self-doubt. Each day she reminds herself to ignore that negativity and push past it to expand into the life that she desires and deserves.
Some advice that Alyssa would share with the Youth would be to embrace who you are. Stop trying to ‘fit in’ and learn to appreciate every little thing that makes you unique. Those exact things will draw people to you and give you a message that can help people down the line.
Alyssa's positive contributions have been acknowledged throughout the city.
