Katie KrauseGeriatric Medicine Fellow
Katie Krause is a Geriatric Medicine fellow at the University of Toronto. She completed her undergraduate and masters degrees at the University of Guelph with distinction and attended medical school at the University of Limerick in Ireland. She subsequently returned to Canada and completed her General Internal Medicine residency training in Toronto. Raised in a family with no medical professionals to guide her, and within a highly competitive and sometimes daunting system, she blazed her own path to success. She has now started to focus her efforts on undergraduate education and teaching the doctors of tomorrow. She has published multiple articles in journals such as Gait & Posture and BMJ Ethics.
Her interests now lie in creating models of healthcare for older adults that help promote health and improve access to vulnerable patients.
Katie understands that for many students the idea of a career in medicine may seem unattainable and overwhelming. She would like to help mentor Youth to ensure this fear does not deter them from an extremely rewarding career.
