Melaina Gasbarrino

Social Entrepreneur & Author

Melaina Gasbarrino is a social entrepreneur who lives simply. She has her BA in English from The University of Guelph and a Masters of Primary Teaching from Griffith University. She wears many hats and loves every second of her 'off the beaten path life'.

In 2012 she founded Sustainably Ours to educate youth about the environment through curriculum-based workshops and whole school presentations. She later created SALT to TREE, a wellness and conservation social enterprise to bring forth her healthy, holistic nature by hosting outdoor yoga classes, traditional healing ceremonies and beach cleanups.

This past year Melaina self-published a children's book, 'Lola's Beach Clean-Up', which is a positive narrative and creative tool designed to bring attention to the widespread environmental issue of shoreline pollution.

She is also the Programs and Communications Manager of the Pink Pearl Foundation, a charity her family started to support young women facing cancer. On a daily basis she sees the positive impact the charity's suite of free support programs have on over 1,000 young women across Ontario.

Through her work she understands what it takes to create a life to love. She's come up with more ideas than you can imagine and knows that through trial and error you'll find a path that's right for you.
